Life gets overwhelming or stressful sometimes. Some days, you just feel like taking a break and refreshing your mind and soul. One of the best ways I've found to do this is to get back to nature.
Sometimes I like to just pack a few things to eat, a tent, my trusty knife, my favorite pistol, fishing pole, and just hit the road.
Depending on the area, I would naturally be drawn to places that have less people and more animals. In California, we have beautiful beaches and majestic mountains with lovely lakes full of fish. Those are the places I seek.
Fortunately, California has many of these beautiful forests, mountains, lakes to explore and get away for a while. I love the fact that I can drive only a few hours to get away from the hustle and bustle of the suburbs and the city. I love to drive anyways, so turning on some chill music and driving long distances allows me to clear my thoughts and just cruise.
Once I drive far enough, I notice less cars on the road and more trees. If I have no set destination, I like to just explore and look for a nice area to stop.
After I get to a chill spot and setup the tent, I do a little fishing and relaxing, maybe take a refreshing swim, then cook up something to eat.
At night, I build a nice campfire and do some real soul searching. Prayer by the campfire is really heart-warming and satisfying for the soul.
I love to look up at the night sky and count the stars that I would normally be unable to see in the city skyline.
When the night is done, I lay in my tent and take a well-deserved nap.
In the morning I feel refreshed and ready to tackle anything & everything life has in store.
